Can food be more than something that merely fills our stomatchs? Can it fullfill our physical and emotional needs as well? I share you some of these dietary choices that can help you fix your moods, as I do to myself (somehow).
My problem: fatigue
My doctor said: take iron
I asked why?
My doctor said that iron aids performance in memory tests. Research stated this is especially true for women, who lose iron during menstruation. A lack of it leads to an ability to concentrate, which hinders verbal learning and memory.
My problem: can’t relax
My doctor said: take more carbohydrates (I think I ate lots of carbohydrates, so why my doctor think that I’m less of it? Hmm, it’s not because I’m still thin, rite?!)
Then, I asked why?
Carbohydrates have been shown to increase serotonin levels, resulting in calmness and drownsiness. Beware though, too much and you’ll become lethargic!
My problem: can’t concentrate
My doctor said: take caffeine! Instead of coffee, you can get it from a cup of tea and even a chocolate.
I asked why?
Moderate levels of caffeine have been shown to increase performance, alertness and concentration
My problem: keep forgetting things
My doctor said: take vitamin B
I asked why?
My doctor said that taking more vitamin B6 (found in chicken, soybeans and bananas) aids in the production of chemicals that improve word finding and thinking abilities, and is believed to aid in blood flow to the brain. Uhm, but he not explain about age factor, hahaha….
My problem: feeling down
My doctor said: take chocolate
I asked why?
My doctor said that its not a myth, if its associated with hormone. Chocolate does bring on a good mood due to its levels of the brain chemical, named Phenylalanine. It is released when emotions are aroused. He added that chocolate also contains theobromine and caffeine, both of which have been shown to increase alertness.
Hope you can take note from my common problems above (and you probably feel it also). It is not usually work well to me (because I love to eat), but at least I’m try and somehow yes, its work very well
